INTRODUCTION

My name is Yousuf and my Dad called me “the heart” of our family. I am definitely the most sensitive of the three brothers with the highest EQ.

I am a multi-sport athlete but my primary sport is baseball.

I love playing soccer and football in the fall. Soccer builds my stamina and football strengthens my mental toughness. Basketball is in the winter and a great test of my athleticism. I’m driven by basketball to increase my vertical (currently 37”).

All of these skills are essential to my development as a baseball player and the truth is, baseball is where I want to be now and in the future.

My Dad emphasized the importance of baseball teaching young people how to fail. It’s about how you respond to failure. I respond with my heart - keep pumping, don’t stop. Failing also requires deep self awareness and understanding of where work is needed. I know that my area of improvement in baseball is staying consistent with my timing at the plate.

My primary position is Center Field. My fastest 60 yet is 7.2s. I am also trained as a catcher, I’ve played every position and I’m always to step in anywhere on the field.

“Baseball is 90% mental. The other half is physical.” - Yogi Berra
